Summer Garden Sessions: The Alverton Hotel
The Alverton Hotel located just a stone throw away from Truro, Cornwall’s capital, is not only a four silver star hotel but also a grade II listed building full of character and charm. With its own bell tower, curved archways and ivy walls, The Alverton Hotel is a real escape from the ordinary, even if it’s just for a Friday evening.
Surrounded by the walls of the charming Alverton Hotel lies their very own picturesque terrace and garden. A truly wonderful place for a summer garden party. The Alverton Hotel is now hosting their Garden Summer Sessions every Friday throughout July and August. Think al-fresco dining, incredible live music and summer cocktails created by the Alverton’s talented bar team.
Last year I had the honour of staying at The Alverton Hotel and I was amazed at how beautiful the grounds are. Since then, my friends and I have been returning for the odd “after work” drink however something is telling me that we will be visiting a lot more this summer.
Last Friday we enjoyed cocktails on the terrace whilst listening to live music from Miss Mog Jones. Utterly incredible, Miss Mog Jones set the tone for a chilled out Friday evening alongside good company and delicious food.
Not only are the cocktails 2 for £10 on Friday evenings but the grill is fired up by head chef, Simon George. Choose from an array of skewers, ciabattas or jambalaya rice - every dish is cooked in front of you on the terrace grill. Of course, Anna and I opted for the seafood jambalaya whilst Josh chose the buttermilk chicken ciabatta and Alex, the chicken skewers.
Booking is encouraged for these events however not completely necessary. For the full menu and line up head over to The Alverton’s Summer Garden Sessions.
*We were gifted this experience however all opinions are my own - we had a wonderful evening!
