The Sovereign Suite by Mint Stays has got to be one of the best self-catering properties in Bristol. Recently, my partner Scott and I had the pleasure of experiencing this incredible suite, and it exceeded all our expectations.

From the moment we stepped into The Sovereign Suite, we entered a world of laid-back luxury and meticulously designed interiors. The former Bank of England building, where the apartments are situated, provided a historic backdrop to our stay, adding an extra layer of charm to our experience.

Our adventure began with exploring the vibrant offerings of Bristol. From diverse restaurants and bars to captivating museums and art galleries, there was no shortage of things to see and do. We visited Gambas Tapas for dinner, and can highly recommend their beautiful seafood dishes! Another highlight was our visit to Wake The Tiger, a multi-sensory art experience which left us completely amazed, and a little bit baffled (in the best way!)

The following morning, I ventured out to fetch coffee and breakfast to enjoy in our apartment. With its tall ceilings, picturesque views of the city’s history, and a state-of-the-art kitchen, it provided the ideal backdrop for me to kick back and chill whilst my very own private (boyfriend!) chef attended to me (I entered my princess era at this stage of the trip.)

One of the perks of staying in The Sovereign Suite is its proximity to Clifton, just a leisurely 25-minute walk away. We took advantage of this and visited our friends at Somerset House Clifton, a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the area. As avid food enthusiasts, one of our favourite activities is hunting for locally sourced produce to cook with. After a few glasses of wine, we made an impromptu trip to Chandos Deli Clifton and gathered everything we needed to whip up a delicious ragu back at the apartment.
While I thoroughly enjoy dining out, there's something truly special about maximising the experience of staying in such a stunning apartment - especially when it includes indulging in wine and board games!
