Rick Stein Falmouth: Fizz and Chips
Rick Stein is one of the biggest foodie names, not only in Cornwall, but globally. With four restaurants in Padstow, Porthleven, Newquay and Falmouth, Rick Stein has become a household name to locals and visitors of Cornwall.
In 2010, Rick Stein opened up the Rick Stein Fish in Falmouth - and it's only a fish and chip shop, but a restaurant, takeaway and oyster bar. It was the first Rick Stein eatery that opened outside of Padstow, where his flagship, The Seafood Restaurant is located.
Being a Falmouth University Graduate (plus I only live 15 minutes away from Fal) I've spent a lot of time boozing and eating in Falmouth. Due to Rick Stein's reputation, I've always thought that the restaurant in Falmouth would be well out of my price range.
Last week, we were invited to Rick Stein Fish in Falmouth to try out their new Fish and Fizz offer and I was completely WRONG about the expensive price tag that seems to be attached to the Rick Stein name.
Rick Stein in Falmouth is a super chilled out restaurant over looking events square.
Classic fish and chips are at the heart of the menu using cod, haddock and local fish like hake and lemon sole. Some of Rick's favourite seafood dishes also feature such as grilled sea bream fillets, moules marinière, grilled lobster, shucked oysters and choices from the daily specials board.
As well as the fizz and chip offer, we also went for cod fritter and tortilla chips to start.
The Fish and Fizz offer is amazing, especially if you're on a budget but still want to experience one of Rick's restaurants. Fish and chips and a chilled glass of Prosecco go together absolutely perfectly, so the Falmouth restaurant are now offering the two together along with Rick’s famous tartare sauce and mushy peas for £9.95.
So if you're looking for a chilled out atmosphere, good food, PROSECCO and a low price tag on the run up to Christms, then the Fizz and Chips offer at Rick Steins is the one for you!
