Polurrian on the Lizard: Cornwall Hotels
In the height of Summer, Scott and I were invited to staycation at The Polurrian on the Lizard, a gorgeous coastal hotel perched on the cliffside offering a relaxed, coastal escape. I’d spent the night at The Polurrian a few times previously, and had an amazing experience each time.
The location of The Polurrian is definitely it’s the biggest highlight for me. Overlooking the Atlantic, The Polurrian is just seconds from Polurrian Cove, a stunning secret spot only known to locals and hotel guests. 10 minutes away you’ll find Kynance Cove, one of Cornwall’s most loved and famous beaches. Scott and I decided to go for a pre-hotel stay swim at Kynance - it was high tide, but we still managed to make the most of a good twenty-minute plunge.
When we arrived at The Polurrian, I was instantly reminded of how welcoming and friendly the staff are. After a good chat with the receptionist, we were handed the keys and made our way to our room. The view from our room is absolutely incredible, and easily up there as one of the best hotel room views. We slept with the curtains wide open and woke up with the sunrise the following day.
The hotel has 41 bedrooms and undertook a refurbishment throughout its communal areas pre covid. In the communal Living Room, you’ll find a decadent bar which offers a great selection of rums, gins, beers and wines from Cornwall as well as a new cocktail list. With stylish features and contemporary interiors, the hotel sparks uniqueness with a quirky twist. In the corners of the room, you’ll find retro seating and a customised waltzer - personally I love this feature and it really gives the hotel a shining personality.
We then went back to the hotel for a swim in their outdoor pool, before heading to the bar for some cocktails. The view from the hotel is INSANE, and as soon as golden hour hit, we decided to run (quite literally) down the steps to the beach so we could watch the sun go down. We had the whole beach to ourselves. Magic 🌙
You can expect your time at The Polurrian to be rememberable, it has the idyllic coastal charm. Our night staycation felt like we were a world away from home, despite just being half an hour down the road.
Thank you for a beautiful stay @polurrianonthelizard ~ we already can’t wait to return soon.
*Please note that we were offered a complimentary stay in exchange for a review, however all opinions are my own. We had a great stay!
