Hey Cornwall, What's New?
There's nothing better than knowing about the coolest, quirkiest places before anyone else, right?
Over the last few weeks I've been collecting information on the 'newest happenings' in Cornwall for a project that I am working on at Visit Cornwall; and I have to say, there is some very exiting stuff in the pipeline for the Duchy!
Now I can't go through every single on of my findings (watch this space), because I've promised to keep some under wraps until the official launch dates, but I can certainly share of few things with you. The power of social media is ridiculously STRONG, and after dealing with my first PR storm last month, I've learnt that as soon as something 'new' and 'exciting' hits the gram, then it'll spread like absolute wildfire - and on that note...enjoy!
St Michaels Hotel and Spa, Falmouth - NEW 50 MILL REFURB
WOW, WOW, WOW - the first and largest kind of investment in Cornwall. I was invited to the St Michaels Hotel in Falmouth for the launch of their 50 million refurb last week, and I can honestly say that the hotel has really stepped up their game. A new wellbeing hub at its finest.
As well as 32 new rooms, St Michaels have also built the new 'Destination Spa,' something that I have no doubt will spread over Instagram (those outside hot tubs are something else)! The Destination Spa is now home to the largest hydrothermal pool in the SW, 21 massage stations and 10 poolside treatment rooms. Check out the lovely Claudia's review during her time at the spa (when I had to run back to the office - cry). The spa is priced at £35pp-£45pp for three hours.
It doesn't stop there! St Michaels have also opened not 1, but 2 new restaurants. Guys, I'm a tough one to please, but I can promise you that they are absolutely gorgeous! Welcome Brasserie On The Bay, the restaurant that serves dishes crafted from the very best of fresh and seasonal Cornish produce with an emphasis on fresh fish and seafood from the ocean opposite. With a sea facing deck, you'll also find the Garden Kitchen - a new chilled out (SEXAYYY VIBE) eatery, focusing on stone baked pizzas, salads and fresh smoothies. So far, the Garden Kitchen is probably the coolest looking restaurant that I've come across in quite some time.

KUDHVA, Tintagel - New Bar and Quirky Retreats
Kudhva is AWSOME! I recently visited for their press event, check out the post here. There are a couple of super cool updates on the Cornish, hide out, glampsite.
For those that don't know much about Kudhva, it's a 'off the beaten track' glampsite in North Cornwall, and it looks ridiculously cool. I'm talking tree tents, adventures, wild swimming, floating pontoons and sleeping under the stars. Sounds right up my street - sign me up!
Kudhva and New British Design have also collaborated with Carlsberg to build a bespoke off-grid bar and accommodation experience nestled above the Kudhva waterfall. For a limited time only guests can book to stay, enjoy the site and sleep (up to six) in their very own off-grid bar, pre-stocked with beer. The press are going MAD for this place, so expect to see a lot more of Kuhdva.

Carbis Bay Hotel and Resort - A New Level of Luxury for Cornwall
Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate near St Ives have also undergone a multi-million-pound beach regeneration project which, has seen the launch of eight luxury Beach Lodges and Suites. Last month I had a tour around the new lodges, and seriously, they are absolutely insane. The lodges have direct access onto Carbis Bay beach and have infinity views of St Ives Bay - when can I move in?
A new level of luxury - guests of the lodges and suits are able to make use of a personal guest host that is available around the clock. Want to arrange a helicopter ride along the coastline? Need a chauffeur to tour you to private dinners? Fancy a chef to cook a BBQ on your own patch of golden sand? All you need to do is book it through your tablet system that's located in the living room of the lodge. I'll let that sink in.

Jubilee Pool - The First Geothermal Pool in the UK
Visitors will be able to enjoy a section of the pool which will be heated using geothermal energy while the majority of the pool will maintain its normal bracing temperature. I had a lovely visit to the pool during the heatwave in August (check out the review here), and to be fair, it did make a great change to the beach! I'm very much looking forward to visiting the pool again in 2019 when the works will be completed. Another exciting first for Cornwall!
